Anis Doroftei: “The Theater makes you see images of your own possible future.” Born in Bucharest 43 years ago, she completed her high school studies with a focus on Science, never imagining that her chosen path would have anything to do with mathematics. She started working in different sectors, even tried her hand at singing, but soon realized that what called to her the most was stepping onto a stage where she could unleash her essence. In many of her performances, sometimes without the need for words, she communicated with her audience through mime, pantomime, and above all, through transparency and sincerity. She graduated from the Faculty of Performing Arts four years later at Spiru Haret University, under the guidance of Professor Dr. Univ. Lucia Muresan.
Interpreting works by European and international playwrights such as Musatescu, I.L Caragiale, Alecsandri, Shakespeare, collaborating with cultural and artistic organizations, and participating in theater festivals for young students, she completed her studies with the final licensing exam and
later earned a Master’s in Theater Arts and Stage Performance with the theme: “The actor’s creative process within stage communication.” She began performing on stages of various theaters in Bucharest and throughout the country, including Small Theater, National Theater, Comedy Theater, Arca Theater, Act Theater, etc. Thanks to her efforts, studies, perseverance, and talent, she received numerous awards and recognitions at the national level.
On television, she appeared in series, soap operas, entertainment shows, commercials, and music videos. In 2005, she made a brief appearance in Spain in the series “El Comisario,” and although she tried to establish herself on the Spanish stage, for personal reasons, she had to return to her homeland. She returned to the land of Cervantes in 2021 when various production companies offered her various roles, acting in the series “Señor, dame paciencia” and in the film “Llenos de gracia,” playing the role of Sister Tatiana, directed by Roberto Bueso for Paramount Spain. In the fourth season of “Madres Amor y Vida,” she played the mother of Dr. Gabriel. She will also be featured in the upcoming series on Movistar, “Poquita fe,” directed by Pepon Montero, and “Yo adicto,” where she portrays a Psychiatrist.
Filmography includes “California Dreams,” “Bunraku,” “The Wolf Man,” “The necessary death of Charlie countryman,” “The timber,” “The glass house,” “Brancusi, de la eternidad,” “The Dancing Dogs of Dumbrova,” and many other national and international films. She combines her performances with acting classes at her own academy alongside her husband.
